Wonderful unmounted albumen print, 9 1/4"h x 7 1/4"w (23.5 x 18 cm), of a courtyard in Nuremberg, Germany. Photographer unidentified but there are two stamps to verso of print. One is an inventory stamp that reads;"287. Pickertshof, Nürnberg". The other is an oval vendors stamp (Theodor Schiener). This photo of "Alt Nürnberg" fairly bristles with ornamentation! The winged dragons, the crowned eagles, the hanging metal signs, the beautiful wrought iron gates to the street, the other elaborate wrought iron pieces leaning against the walls, the various fountains topped by statues (one of which is Hermes), and the heavily carved table and chairs. Circa 1875. Very small "chip" and tear to upper right edge of print. Else, in fine condition. Scarce and unusual subject matter. $40.00 |

Unmounted albumen print, 9 1/2"h x 7"w (24 x 18 cm), of the monument to Rajaran Chuttraputti, Maharajah of Kolhapur. This young Indian prince was traveling through Florence in 1870 when he died suddenly at the age of 21. His body was burnt on the banks of the Arno, and this monument was erected by his friends on the spot where his funeral rite was conducted. No identifying stamps, etc. to verso. Photo circa 1875. Slight "wrinkling" to upper quarter of print due to it's unmounted state. Else, in excellent condition with beautiful clarity. $40.00 |

Superb unmounted albumen print, 7"h x 9 1/4"w (18 x 23.5 cm), of the Scala dei Giganti (Giant's Staircase) in the Doge's Palace, Venice. So called because of the large statues of Mars and Neptune at the head of the staircase. Photographer unidentified but photograph numbered and titled in the negative;"6.A. VENEZIA Scala dei Giganti". Circa 1875. Print in as-new condition with gorgeous rich brown toning. $40.00 |

Photo circa 1900. Published by the Verlag der Neuen Photogr. Gesellschaft A.G., Steglitz-Berlin, 1907. Absolutely charming gelatin silver studio portrait of a girl. 8"h x 4 1/2"w (20 x 11.5 cm). She poses dressed in a costume for a school play (or perhaps a dance recital, because of the satin ballet slippers) that has daisies attached to the waist of her dress and the brim of her hat, from under which cascade her long ringlets. She sits cross-legged, hands on her knees, smiling with bright eyes that look confidently into the camera. She has all the poise of a "pro". From the Bachrach Studios, circa 1920. In as-new condition, housed in a studio issued folder. $28.00 |

Gelatin silver photograph, 4 1/2'h x 6 3/4"w (11.5 x 17 cm), of a (minor league?) baseball team and it's manager posed outside on a grassy rise, with bats, gloves, balls and catcher's mask "artfully" arranged in front. Photo circa 1915. Attached to a decorative grey cardboard mount that measures 8"h x 10" w. Photo in near fine condition with a few minor surface abrasions. Scan of mount available upon request. $38.00 |

Lovely cyanotype, 4 1/2"h x 7 1/2"w (11.5 x 19 cm), of an imposing wood school house built on a rise. As befits the American attitude towards education in the latter part of the 19th century, this is a very grand building with its corner pilasters, heavy moulding and a charming, decorative bell tower on the roof. Mounted to a biege card stock slightly larger than the image, and stamped on the verso "J.(?) W. Colburn". American school, circa 1890. There is a thin, faint band of fading running horizontally across the upper quarter of the image, with a very slight bow to the mount. Else, in fine condition. $45.00 |
